Peanut Butter Magic Shell

I know I already posted today, but I just have to do this.   I have never been more proud to be a food blogger.  I have been amazed by how supportive this community is since I joined 4 months ago.  I have "met" so many wonderful women, that amaze me day in and day out.  I am new to In Jennie's Kitchen, so I just learned of her loss.  Her husband had a massive heart attack on Sunday, and passed away.  He was a loving father to two little girls.  On this very sad day, Jennie has one wish.  That you make Mikey's favorite Creamy Peanut Butter Pie, and share it with someone you love.  Because you really never know what is going to happen tomorrow.  Read more at For Mikey.

All over food blogs today people are making this pie.  I unfortunately do not have the ingredients to do so.  I also have a sick child, so leaving the house isn't happening either.  Instead, I made you this.  Peanut Butter Magic Shell. I just couldn't let today pass, and do something to honor Mikey.  I have never met Jennie, and I can not even fathom what she is going through.  Hopefully she can feel the love and support we are all sending her today.

Peanut Butter Magic Shell
Printable Recipe

1/3 cup Peanut Butter
3 Tbls Butter

In a microwave safe bowl, melt together peanut butter and butter.  Stir until well blended.  Let sit for a few minutes to cool.  Pour over your favorite ice cream.  Store at room temperature.

So nice of you to support Jennie today...I had not visited her blog till I heard of her loss yesterday, so no time to bake. You're right, food bloggers are a great community...kind and giving...especially in tough times.

I just saw this on Hester's blog. I don't know Jennie and haven't read the post yet. Kudos to you for memorializing Mikey as best you can with the resources you have at home. That's what it's about.

I couldn't make the pie either, due to commitments but she was certainly in my thoughts. We're having an dear old friend and his fiancé over tonight for dinner tonight (he suffered from a heart attack a month ago, fortunately for him (and us) they were able to operate and save him - it's hereditary, he is fit and not overweight!) I usually cook on the healthier side but I'm being super careful tonight.

The support in the food blogging world really is amazing. I, too, couldn't make the pie yesterday (didn't have time to get the ingredients) but I will next week. I love what you did with the magic shell. You were very creative with what you had. I made a berry crisp. Good luck next week. Next week is our last full week of vacation. Hope we make the best of it!

Hi Erin, I got your sweet note and wanted to pop by. I honestly thought you were a veteran blogger. I had no idea you were so new to it. So kudos to you. I am even more impressed with you than I was before. This was a very thoughtful post, especially with a sick munchkin at home. The foodie community sure is a supportive place. I am quite proud to be part of it.
